I reflect on my Christmas season so far with the sprouts. This is the first season with just us three. We had an awesome time trimming the tree, baking ginger bread cookies, sipping egg nog and watching holiday themed movies last weekend. I cherish the moment while watching their excitement during the lighting of the Christmas tree. It was just us, my sister and niece decorating the tree with ornaments. On Sunday we spent the day in New York for the usual packed day of extracurriculars. However, due to unexpected time to spare, we decided to to pay a visit to Santa Claus at the 34th street flagship Macy’s store. After waiting in a seemingly never-ending maze for a couple of hours the kids finally got the chance to visit Santa. What a joyful experience. As the week progressed, our house has been inundated with family Christmas movies.
Our time now is filled with a variety of Christmas programs and parties. This weekend, is my time sans the sprouts. However, given the season, I am sure I will spend ample time with my kids and encounter some co-parenting challenges as I ensure their Christmas season is fulfilling. So far, the Christmas season is off to a positive start. Now let’s see how the co-parenting appearance at my son’s “Parent’s Only” Holiday Party will turn-out. That will be interesting.
