Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So!

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So…..as we had endless conversations on our future. I was ready to move forward and progress our love/friendship relationship you were too busy being “Happily Single”.

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So…. as you say  you valued our platonic friendship but didn’t know how to maintain separate lines between lovers and friends.

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So… as I was there supporting you and ready to be that “Ride or Die” chick even at your lowest, but you chose to endure life battles alone.

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So….as our friendship endured heartache and laughter…as you say as I move on and begin dating that you would even come to my wedding and remain a supportive friend, that your true feelings would eventually surface.

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So…as you would have first priority of my limited time, that eventually you would fall back to number two.

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So….as I warned and gave you a last chance to claim my love before my casual meet and greet dating evolved to something more.

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So…..as there were endless days I asked for your time….yet you were laid back in your whip waiting for another chick to come down those stairs on a prime Friday night. Didn’t think I saw huh?

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So….as you sit in your car uptown  waiting for her….yet try to cover your face while peaking as I am walking side by side with a new  interest. I saw you squirm in your seat.

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So….as now the friendship that once was is silenced. What happen to that genuine friend who supported my “Date Life”, who was the person I could talk to about my divorce, who gave me candid advice on men, friendships and was not judgmental?

Can’t Say I Didn’t Tell You So….that once your true colors were shown, that you will feel ashamed and once you saw me with another gent the jealousy would pierce your heart.

Now you are silenced and just a not-so-distant memory.
