TMZ reported that “Basketball Wives” star Malaysia Pargo has filed for divorce from Charlotte Bobcats player Jannero Pargo . Their marriage troubles have long been public.

Malaysia, legal name Laquisha Pargo — filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. The estranged couple has 3 kids together, a 7-year-old and 3-year-old twins. 

According to TMZ she is asking for sole legal and physical custody — with Jannero getting child visitation. Malaysia also is seeking spousal support and lawyer fees paid.

According to the divorce filing, the two were married in 2006 but separated on December 27, 2012. 

Both of them have been public about their beef with each other via social media this year. In January 2014, Jannero posted a quote from a Jay Z song reading,

“S*** i got 2 liv wit the fact i did u wrong 4ever.” 

He also posted a photo with the caption,

“Once a good girl has gone bad, she’s gone forever.”

Malaysia replied with,

“Don’t worry, I’m not f*** up about it. At All. Carry on. God bless.”

She then posted a photo of her own with a caption reading,

“Forgive, not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace.”

My Insights!

There are definitely irreconcilable differences…and it looks like there will be more hurdles the two will encounter during the divorce process. Based on their public remarks at each other…there are still open wounds.

Well you know once a woman is fed up, that’s the wrap. Does that mean heartbreak results in her good girl image souring? Not the case at all. Yes, she is not the naive girl the gent first met. She has experienced life and relationships. She is wiser, more hip to men and their intentions and ways. A woman becomes less tolerant. She becomes independent from her mate during a break up. Woman command respect that is due. There is a period of self-discovery, where a woman lets her hair down and allows herself to enjoy life.  To some men, that translates to a good girl gone bad.  Eventually, through self-discovery many woman find their true destiny and happiness and the bitter and rebel phase wanes.

“Forgiveness” is necessary to provide peace in your life. I agree with Malaysia 100% on that point. Holding on to grudges, just sets you back from your true destiny. Let go of the past, if your mate is not healthy….move on and forward! When sprouts are involved, establish a healthy relationship for their sake.

I sincerely hope the two can come to an amicable agreement on behalf of their children and each other and it doesn’t result in a nasty tit-for-tat for material and wealth.

However, we have seen this story written many times before.  In the end of most marriages with athletes, it all boils down to the $$$$$.
